The Experience
The Hike
The HikeThe Acatenango hike is a challenging but unforgettable experience. The trail covers about 13 kilometers of varied terrain, starting with a steep climb through the lush forest. As you climb higher, the vegetation becomes sparser, and you'll be able to see stunning views of the surrounding volcanoes and valleys below. The terrain is steep and rocky in some sections, but our experienced guides will be there to assist you every step of the way.
The Basecamp
Our basecamp is located in a beautiful area near the summit of Acatenango. Here, you will find a spacious 4-season canvas tent that can accommodate up to ten people. We provide only the best professional camping gear carefully selected for the optimum experience in these harsh conditions to ensure that you stay warm and comfortable throughout the night. Our guides will cook your meals, so you can relax and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding volcanoes.
Pick Up & Drop Off
We offer free pick-up and drop-off service for our clients from any location in Antigua Guatemala. If you need to be picked up or dropped off in a different location, please contact us for more information and an extra fee may apply.
Private Bathrooms
We pride ourselves on being a sustainable travel agency, and as such, we have invested time and effort into designing professional dry bathrooms installed without affecting the natural landscape of the volcano. Our bathrooms are 100% sustainable and for guest only use. We have worked hard for them to blend perfectly into the beautiful landscape and more than that, to completely eliminate any waste ingoing into these pristine lands.
Watch Fuego Erupt
The highlight of this tour is the opportunity to witness the impressive eruptions of nearby Volcano Fuego from our basecamp. As you sip on hot chocolate, you can marvel at the fiery explosions and lava flows of this active volcano, creating a truly magical and unforgettable experience.
